Here are some expert tips for constructing a realistic and achievable to-do- list:

The Correct To-Do List

There are three types of to-do lists.

The main to-do list has everything which you want to accomplish in the short term and in the long term.

All you want to do must be listed in your main to-do list because you will use it as a point of reference to create the remaining two types of to-do lists.

The other type of to-do list is your day list. This has all the things that must be given priority during your day.

All of the pressing and most important items in your main to-do list must be placed within your day list. The deadlines you missed in the past and the targets you could not accomplish must be included on this list.

The final list is the future list. This list must contain all of the things you want to achieve in the coming weeks. The list must be created for future task to avoid cluttering you main or actual list.

Prioritize Your Activities With The Main To-Do List

When working on the different list, your main aim is to prioritize.

Your main list was formed to fix in all the activities you are to perform to different sub-lists. You should write down the dates and time of each event or task before transferring the tasks to the day list and the future list.

You can also create notations to identify tasks according to their importance. This will help you stay motivated while accomplishing your tasks.

Apply The Future List With Wisdom

The future list is created in order to fit in tasks or activities which are not urgent. This way you don’t forget to do them.

If you see that the time you have in your day list has been over squeezed, it makes no sense to add more tasks to the list. You can move some task to your future list. This list can cause you to procrastinate. So, you have to be careful you don’t cheat yourself.

Having lists helps you to be more conscious of how you spend your time.

You can create your lists on a journal if you like the feel of paper. However, there are a lot of electronic apps out there that can help you create a good to-do list.
